This Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced exclusively from the Showket Vineyard in Oakville, Napa Valley. Oakville is home to some of the most sought-after Cabernet and sangiovese grapes in the Napa Valley. Within the Oakville appellation, Showket Vineyards is perched in the hills above Silverado Trail. With neighbors like Dalle Valle, Vine Cliff, Phelps Backus vineyard, Oakville Ranch, Turnbulls Weitz Vineyard and sitting above Screaming Eagle and Rudd Estate—this is undeniable prime real estate.
The 2005 Asante sana`s initial scents of plum and balsa, pull you in, but it`s the deep black cherry and hints of vanilla that keep your focus. On the palate it fans out and the wine`s cabernet sauvignon component blooms in the form of a rich mid-palate and lingering finish. Its Italian heritage shows itself as its lively texture emerges.
True to its Sangiovese core, it complements salmon, pasta or pizza perfectly. In our opinion the 2005 Asante sana is a perfect combination of old and new world. We suggest you pair this wine with a BBQ Lamb Shanks.

Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions. Our guests utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms for their comments for consistency purposes. In addition, we utilize the wine aroma wheel to enhance one’s ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor. Notes are posted on this wine during the tasting to ensure they accurately reflect the impressions.
