Award Winning Wine!

This promotion will introduce the 2008 vintage to the public for the first time.  It is only available on Indie Winemakers!

Malibu has long been noted for it's surfer community and beach houses.  You can now add fine wines to that image!  Our vertical offering includes four years of award winning estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Colcanyon Estate Wines located in Latigo Canyon, Malibu. The 2008 vintage recently was awarded the prestigious "Double Gold" medal from the San Francisco International Wine Competition.  This wine went head to head in one of the most competitive varietal categories, taking on the long established big names in the world’s wine industry.  This Cabernet is in the top four percent of wines that were entered - only 13 entrants received the award.

Tasting Notes

Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes

Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions. Our guests utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms for their comments for consistency purposes. In addition, we utilize the wine aroma wheel to enhance one’s ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor. Notes are posted on this wine during the tasting to ensure they accurately reflect the impressions.
